Before winter hits, many people get the oil changed , tires checked & other pre-winter maintenance completed. But winter takes a heavy toll on cars, often causing hidden damage that can be costly or even dangerous.

Now is the time to make sure your Honda is road-ready for spring & summer. Here are some things must-do checks.

1. TAKE YOUE HONDA FOR A TIRE CHECK
All Hondas are fitted with all-season tires. While these tires are safe & reliable in most climates, they aren't as flexible as traditional snow tires. All-season tires stiffen in the cold, especially here in Rochester where it's not uncommon for temps to drop below 20 degrees. That can cause cracks & other damage.

You should have your tires air pressure checked & rotated at proper mileage intervals & checked for uneven wear or damage. Doing these things will make your tires last longer & ensure they will grip on wet roads.

2. REPLACE YOUR WIPER BLADES OR INSERTS
Anyone who has had a windshield wiper peel off during a heavy spring rain knows that the icy cold of winter can be hard on wipers. Even if your inserts look okay, replace them if they start to leave streaks on the windshield. We have most all wiper inserts/blades for your Honda in stock & most times are less expensive than the aftermarket parts stores.

3. ENSURE YOUR BRAKES ARE CHECKED
Do you hear a grinding sound when you step on the brakes? Is there a pulstion felt when braking ? If so it would be a good idea to get your brakes checked for your safety & so your not creating even more costly repairs.

4. SCHEDULE A WHEEL ALIGNMENT
Of course, cars hit potholes & other dips & bumps that crop up on our roads during the winter. That can throw your wheels out of alignment & cause a host of problems, including stress on your Honda's suspension, uneven tire wear & other potentially dangerous issues.

5. YOUR HONDA'S CABIN AIR FILTER
Many car owners don't know that there is an air filter in the car's cabin. This filter is to filter the air in the vehicle that goes through your heat & air condioning system that you breath in the vehicle. Over the winter the moisture & dirty water that gets tracked into your car is circulated through the filter & can tend to grow bacteria as temperatures warm up causing unpleasant odors. If you experience this give us a call & we can replaced those filters.

6. CHECK YOUR BATTERY
Car owners think that batteries die during the winter. They do, of course, but they also die in the summer & actually heat does more damage to batteries than cold. Next time your in for any service we will test your battery for Free. We will also check over your vehicles fluid levels & condition.

One last thing, We know it's not hot out yet , but why wait until it's really hot out to find out your Honda's Air Conditioner is not working correctly. Try running it now , so that you don't get caught on a blazing summer day withan Air Conditioner that is not 100%.
