Having owned a 2008 Accord LX with a 4-cylinder engine, my expectations for the 2023 Accord Hybrid were initially tempered by my past experience. The 2008 model, while reliable, was an average-looking vehicle with decent fuel economy and less than exciting to drive. However, my perception took a 180-degree turn after spending just five minutes behind the wheel of the 2023 Accord Hybrid. The drive was unexpectedly satisfying, akin to the joy of snagging an upfront parking spot at the mall without the hassle of circling the lot. It wasn’t an overwhelming sensation but rather a subtle win. While some competitors in the sedan category may boast more visually striking designs, I find the Accord’s sleek, minimalist aesthetic refreshing. Unlike other automakers attempting to make their vehicles stand out in the parking lot, the Accord distinguishes itself as the epitome of a daily driver – a harmonious blend of reliability, efficiency, and an understated yet appealing design.

Winter driving can have its own set of challenges from the moment you start your vehicle. Here are some useful winter driving suggestions: Clear frost, snow and ice thoroughly from all windows and exterior mirrors of your car. Brush snow away to help prevent it from blowing into your line of sight while driving. Never warm up your vehicle in a closed garage. This could lead to carbon monoxide problems. Consider keeping your gas tank at least half full to help prevent gas line freeze-up. It’s also a good idea to keep your tank full in case you become stuck in the snow waiting for rescue or if you have an emergency and need to drive somewhere. Check that your exhaust pipe is not clogged with mud or snow. Don’t use cruise control on icy roads. Allow more time and space for braking when visibility is poor. Try to stay calm if you start to skid and be prepared for black ice. If your vehicle has anti-lock brakes, be familiar with how they operate so you are not surprised if your ABS brakes engage in slick driving conditions. All drivers should think about using extra caution when driving in winter conditions. Slow down and allow additional time to get to your destination.

Air Fryer Garlic Butter Steak Bites Ingredients: 1 pound steak ribeye, sirloin, NY strip, etc. 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 teaspoon kosher salt 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon ground thyme Garlic Butter Sauce: 3 tablespoons butter melted 3 teaspoons garlic minced 2 tablespoons parsley fresh and diced Directions: Using a sharp knife cut the steak into 1-inch pieces, or bite-size pieces of steak, and transfer to a large bowl. Add the oil and seasoning and toss to coat the steak pieces. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F, for 2-3 minutes. Spread the seasoned steak bites into the air fryer basket, in a single layer, and set the cooking time for 8-10 minutes. Top halfway through cooking time and shake the basket to turn the steak bites over. In a small bowl add the melted butter, mix in the minced garlic (or garlic powder) toss with the simple air fryer steak bites, and serve with fresh parsley.
