Rochester Honda Passport Dealer
Did you know that there was a gap in the Honda lineup for over a decade? For years, customers looking for a two-row SUV didn’t have many available options; their only choices were the compact CR-V and the three-row Pilot. Fortunately, Honda filled that gap with the Passport and gave teams like ours yet another reason to be proud to carry the Honda name. As your Rochester Honda Passport dealer, we’re excited to show you how the Passport completes the Honda lineup and everything it has to offer.
Your search for a Passport dealer in Rochester is a good indication that you’re interested in and possibly even sold on the SUV. It doesn’t, however, mean that you’re sold on Ralph Honda. We’re here to change that by showing you why we’re your Honda authority and a good place to purchase this comfortable SUV. For starters, we are dedicated to helping you find the right vehicle, whether that be the Honda Passport or one of our other models. We also offer assistance with financing, so you can find a lease or loan plan that fits your budget, and service, so you know where to go when it’s time to get those oil changes done.
We have spent years of diligence and hard work to establish our business on integrity, accountability, transparency, respect, and teamwork. These ethics guide everything we do and are the foundation on which we serve each customer. You’ll find that, like Honda, our commitment to our customers is something you can count on. We believe in putting you first in every part of the process and, as a comprehensive automotive center, that means handling all your needs from shopping our inventory and finalizing the sale to servicing your Honda for every mile ahead.
The History of the Honda Passport
Did you know the original Honda Passport of the early 1990s wasn’t a Honda at all? Honda’s partnership with Isuzu in the 1990s was a stroke of luck and perfect timing. Isuzu halted production of sedans, and Honda was in dire need of an SUV to meet the growing demands of the American market. The automakers helped one another as Honda lent its sedans in exchange for the Isuzu Rodeo, a midsize SUV that Honda slightly modified and debuted as the Passport in 1994.
Despite sharing much of the same design as its distant Isuzu cousin, the Passport found a place in the segment among competitors like the Chevy Blazer, Ford Explorer, and Jeep Cherokee. Honda made ongoing improvements to the SUV throughout the decade and later introduced the second-generation Passport in 1998, which boasted a more sophisticated design and a more robust powertrain. This, however, would mark the final call for the Passport, at least for the time being.
As Honda and Isuzu parted ways, Honda got to work designing an SUV of its own. The three-row Honda SUV, the Pilot, made its debut in 2003 and bookended the Honda lineup along with the compact and versatile CR-V. For 15 years, Honda’s lineup had a significant vacancy–there wasn’t a two-row midsize SUV in sight. Honda finally filled that gap in 2019 with the return of the Passport, a midsize crossover designed for adventurers with a penchant for luxury and innovation.
2022 Passport
Honda has a reputation for building practical vehicles and, while that’s certainly the case with the 2022 Honda Passport, this SUV challenges the norm by proving that it also has a need for adventure. The newly redesigned Passport is a strong performer both on and off the pavement, with its powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine churning out 280 horsepower while its advanced torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system expertly sends torque to the wheel or wheels that need it most.
The new TrailSport trim truly shines on any terrain and can take your adventure to the next level. This is thanks to the Passport’s four-mode Intelligent Traction Management system that gives you more control over the Passport’s performance with drive modes like Snow, Sand, and Mud. Navigating this type of terrain is also easier with the TrailSport’s 18-inch wheels, rugged tires, aggressive front and rear bumpers with integrated skid plates, and power-folding mirrors designed specifically for narrow trails.
If you’re not in the market for an adventure-ready rig, Honda gives you plenty of more luxurious choices in the Passport lineup with the EX-L and the Elite. Available in either two-wheel or all-wheel drive, the EX-L is the Passport’s base model and starts at $38,370.[a] This modest price tag is truly remarkable considering the EX-L is outfitted with leather-trimmed seats, heated front seats, a power tailgate, a one-touch power moonroof, and advanced driver-assist and safety features like the Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Monitor.
The Passport Elite offers the ultimate in opulence and convenience. Building on the EX-L, the Elite adds modern conveniences and luxuries like wireless phone charging, heated and ventilated front seats, a hands-free power tailgate, and a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel. As far as innovative technology, the Elite offers every feature imaginable, from the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System to Adaptive Cruise Control and a Road Departure Mitigation System.
