Honda is staying competitive in the all-electric segment with the midsize EV, the 2026 Honda Prologue. Building on the momentum of the previous model year, the 2026 Prologue retains the features, technology, and performance enhancements that helped establish it as a confident entry in Honda’s growing EV lineup. All of these features have made the Prologue a standout entry in the segment, competing with the likes of the Chevy Blazer EV and Toyota’s bZ Woodland.

With Honda updating the performance in the 2025 model year, improving horsepower and torque, shoppers can expect the same level of performance for the 2026 model year. Additionally, despite being introduced to the market only recently with the 2024 model year, Honda opted to increase the total range in the previous model year; a trend that is also present in the 2026 Prologue. These enhancements provide shoppers with the best that the brand has to offer, without any shortcuts or shortcomings.

You can get the 2026 Prologue in three different trim formats, keeping things simple and direct. There is the starter EX trim for those who want a good daily driver with optimal range. The Touring provides you with added luxury elements and conveniences, while the Elite is the high-performance, dual-motor version of the Prologue. You can get the Prologue in a total of seven different colors, which includes Mercury Silver Metallic, Frostline White Pearl, North Shore Pearl, Pacific Blue Metallic, Scarlet Red Metallic, Sonic Gray Pearl, and Raven Black.

Performance and Range

Honda has put forward the option of having more range or better performance when it comes to the powertrain lineup of the 2026 Prologue. The midsize EV has two different configurations: front-wheel or all-wheel drive. This enables you to configure the Prologue as you see fit, based on where you drive, how you drive, and how far you drive.

The Two-Wheel Drive Configuration

If you prefer range and fuel economy over top-end traveling speeds, then the 85 kWh battery pack with a single electric motor is going to be your preferred option. It manages 220 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque. You can also achieve an EPA-estimated range of 308 miles on a full charge.[b] This balance delivers confident highway passing power while still offering the efficiency needed for everyday commuting. At the same time, you have the added convenience of commuting back and forth to work several days a week without worrying about charging.

You Can Also Opt for All-Wheel Drive

The second powertrain option is the 85 kWh battery pack configured in a dual-motor setup for all-wheel drive. This vehicle features an electric motor on both the front and rear axles, producing up to 300 hp and 355 lb-ft of torque. If you want quick acceleration off the line and good traveling speeds, then this is the option for you. The dual-motor option sacrifices some range for its higher-end performance, but you still have an impressive EPA-estimated 294 total miles of range on a full charge.[b] This option is perfect for those who want to get to where they’re going quickly, have easily accessible lane-passing performance when commuting, and excellent off-the-line acceleration, so you’re never lagging during stop-and-go traffic.

Charging Times

The 2026 Prologue can also be charged in a multitude of ways, including Level 1 charging using any basic 120-volt outlet, so you can charge the vehicle overnight. However, the more conventional way to keep the midsize EV charged is by using a dedicated Level 2 charger, either installed in your home or at a public charging station. With a 240-volt Level 2 charger, you can add up to 34.1 miles of charge per hour.[c] However, if you want to get back on the road quickly, you can take advantage of the Level 3 DC Fast Charge, which enables you to recover up to 65 miles of range in just 10 minutes.[c] You can also achieve up to 80% battery charge in 35 minutes if you have at least 20% of charge left on the battery.[c]

Design and Style

The design of the 2026 Honda Prologue is built to evoke a “neo-rugged” silhouette with its wide track and raised suspension. This allows you to travel comfortably to different destinations and along different types of road surfaces in confidence. Despite its midsize footprint, the Prologue’s aerodynamic profile plays a key role in maximizing driving range, helping the vehicle remain efficient at highway speeds.

Notable Features on the Touring and Elite Trims

The Touring and Elite trims also come standard with side roof rails, so if you want to accessorize your Prologue with roof racks for added carrying capacity to accommodate your outdoor adventures, you can do so. Every trim comes standard with an LED lighting array consisting of LED headlights and taillights. There are also welcome lights that illuminate the area around the vehicle's perimeter when the driver approaches.

The Touring and Elite trims also come standard with a power moonroof, so there is an added sense of style and luxury to the vehicle. The power tilt functionality features one-touch controls for express opening and closing, along with a power-operated sunshade feature, making it convenient when you want to bring some of the great outdoors into the cabin.

If having your Prologue look a certain way is important to you, there is also the inclusion of three different wheel sizes based on the trim. You have 19-inch, 20-inch, and 21-inch wheel sizes, giving you options when it comes to embracing the optional stylistic flavors that the Prologue offers. Each wheel size is also tucked into all-season tires, so you can travel year-round on a single set of tires.

Comfort and Convenience

Complementing the design of the 2026 Prologue are a number of comfort and convenience features, such as the hands-free power liftgate. This allows you to easily access the rear cargo area, especially thanks to the auto unlock feature. You can then store cargo in the rear hold, which can conveniently store up to 25.2 cu.ft. of cargo; if you lower the rear seats you can make use of up to 57.7 cu.ft. of cargo capacity.

Get the Cabin Comfortable Before You Step Inside

Beyond the hands-free liftgate, the Prologue also offers convenient remote entry and remote start functionality. This eliminates the hassle of getting into the vehicle, warming it up, and getting it going as you head off to work or drop the kids off at school. Instead, you can utilize the dual-zone automatic climate control to warm up or cool down the vehicle up to 60 minutes before you get in, so it can be ready and comfortable for all passengers once you’re ready to head out.

Seating Enhancements

The cabin comfortably seats up to five people across two rows, providing a spacious area for solo drivers, families, or ride-sharing passengers alike. The seats come in black cloth on the EX, but the Touring and Elite are decked out in leather upholstery. All three trims feature 10-way power driver seats, while a six-way power front passenger seat with heated and ventilated capabilities is available. You can even adjust and save up to two customizable seating presets with the available driver memory settings.

Other Unique Features

Conveniences such as heated steering and rain-sensing windshield wipers add a lot to the creature comforts of the 2026 Prologue. Additionally, there are miscellaneous features that add to the character of Honda’s midsize EV, such as the interior ambient lighting, which you can customize to your liking using 10 different color settings. It works in conjunction with the infotainment center and allows you to modify the lighting that runs throughout the front cupholders, the front footwells, and along the doors.

Tech and Safety

The 11.3-inch HD touchscreen, which you can use to adjust the ambient lights, also allows you to utilize many other features as part of the Honda infotainment suite. This includes being able to access apps or utilize the HondaLink navigation suite for getting around town, plotting courses to your favorite destinations, or using the planner to schedule your travel routine around nearby charging stations to stay topped off while on the go. And thanks to the Bluetooth wireless functionality, you can easily pair your smart device to the Prologue using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto support.

An Available Bose Speaker System and Google Built-In

Listen to your favorite music via SiriusXM Satellite Radio through the six-speaker audio system on the EX, or opt for the Touring or Elite to access the 12-speaker Bose premium audio system. The infotainment center also features Google built-in functionality. Download apps from the Google Play Store, or utilize the voice-activated AI assistant for travel recommendations, scheduling maintenance, or assistance in finding a specific location.

Other Useful Features

Features like Siri Eyes Free Mode provide you with hands-free access to text messaging and phone calls, so you don’t have to worry about taking your hands off the steering wheel to stay productive with conference meetings or checking in on the kids. Keep your devices charged with either USB charging or available wireless charging. Added tech like the digital driver information center gives you a cluster of easy-to-read information and telemetry. You can customize the digital readouts to your liking for navigation, vehicle health, and warning messages.
