2025 Honda Prologue vs 2025 Chevy Blazer EV
Midsize SUVs are a great choice for many drivers since they hit that “just right” spot between smaller compact options and full-size SUVs that can take over your garage. You have a growing number of electric midsize SUVs available to you these days, giving you all of the functionality you expect from this kind of vehicle while letting you leave the gas pump behind. Choosing the right electric midsize SUV can be tricky, however, since there are a lot of different details to keep track of. Comparing the 2025 Honda Prologue vs 2025 Chevy Blazer EV, in particular, can be more difficult than you might think at first since these two SUVs have a lot in common.
Performance is nearly identical between these two SUVs for one key reason: they use the same battery and motor setups. This is not a coincidence; Honda and GM collaborated to develop the Ultium battery platform that underpins the Prologue and the Blazer EV. These two models come with the same standard 85 kWh battery and have options for either a single motor on the front wheels or a pair of motors to create all-wheel drive. This being said, we find that Honda makes charging your Prologue easier thanks to a number of charging packages you can choose from that are designed to meet a wide range of needs.
Overall design and size are very similar between these two vehicles, though we prefer Honda’s styling, which creates an absolutely gorgeous SUV that you will love driving. Looking inside, both of these vehicles have impressive tech and comfort features for you to enjoy, though Honda once again goes further. You get an incredibly comfortable 10-way driver’s seat standard inside the Prologue, with leather-trimmed seats available. The standard six-way manual front seats of the Chevy Blazer EV are fine but certainly nothing special, and they fall behind what Honda gives you—this is something you can see throughout the interior.
Performance and Range
When looking at any EV, it is worth taking some time to consider the kind of performance it offers and how much range you can get from it. Even when you are looking at two vehicles with similar performance, you still want to have a sense of what they bring to the road. What is remarkable is that there are still some differences between these two models despite their similarities when it comes to engineering. Ultimately, you can get a terrific driving experience with both of these SUVs, but we cannot help but prefer how Honda presents it, particularly when it comes to your trim options.
The 2025 Honda Prologue is powered by an 85 kWh battery, no matter which trim you choose, which is also the standard battery for the 2025 Chevy Blazer EV. You can pair this battery with a single motor on the front wheels that provides 220 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque, ensuring you have a great time on the road. If you are looking for enhanced performance or better overall traction and handling, then a dual-motor option is the way to go, with 300 hp and 355 lb-ft of torque. Chevy offers these two options also, and they provide identical power output. Your range with these two setups is different between these vehicles, however, so that is worth keeping in mind.
The 2025 Chevy Blazer EV with a single motor gets an estimated 312 miles of range from a full charge, while the comparable 2025 Prologue gets an EPA-estimated 308 miles of range.[b] If you go with the dual-motor setup (which we honestly prefer), then you get an EPA-estimated 294 miles of range from a full charge with the Prologue but just 283 miles from the Chevy Blazer EV.[b] One final thing to note is that Honda gives you more freedom in picking your preferred setup; a single-motor configuration is standard for the EX and Touring trims, with the dual-motor option available for them and standard for the Elite trim. Chevy offers this battery and both motor setups for two trims—the LT and RS—without a third option like Honda provides.
Charging Options and Packages
Although an impressive all-electric vehicle like the Honda Prologue lets you leave the gas pump behind, it still requires routine charging. The major benefit is the added flexibility that you get when charging compared to needing to go to a gas station to fill up. Most of us would never dream of having a gas pump installed at our homes, but you can easily recharge the Prologue while it is parked in your driveway. Not all EVs are the same when it comes to ease of charging, however, so it is important that you look at different options with this in mind.
Both the Honda Prologue and Chevy Blazer EV are easy to recharge with support for Level 1 and Level 2 charging at home, along with public DC fast charging stations. Since they share a battery platform, it is no surprise that both of these models are easy to charge and make owning an EV convenient. In fact, the 2025 Prologue at a public DC Fast Charger can get about 65 miles of range from just a 10-minute charge, which makes it easy to take care of everything you need to do each day.[c] Honda goes even further by giving you three charging packages you can choose from when you purchase a Prologue, each one designed to support how you want to charge your vehicle.
If you want to get a home charging station, which is the best way to make charging easy and quick at home, then Honda offers a Home Charging Station package with a Level 2 charger, installation incentives, and public charging credits. Your second option is a Portable Charging Kit package that includes a Level 1/Level 2 charging cord, installation incentive, and public charging credits to help you with a very flexible option. And if you prefer to primarily charge on the go or already have a home charger, then the Public Charging Credits package will save you money in the long run. Chevy puts in the effort to make charging simple with the Blazer EV but does not offer similar incentives to kickstart your EV ownership experience.
Interior Comfort and Tech Features
No matter what kind of vehicle you are interested in, you should always look carefully at the interior and the features you get. Although both the 2025 Blazer EV and the 2025 Honda Prologue have a lot to offer, we can see that Honda gives you more to improve your time on the road each day. Looking at the base Blazer EV LT, we find a pair of large interior displays, a six-speaker sound system, and single-zone climate control. Cloth seating is standard, with six-way manual front seats that are fine but a bit underwhelming. Going up to the RS trim, Chevy provides some nice upgrades like perforated seating with an eight-way power driver’s seat and six-way power front-passenger seat, though you are still stuck with a six-speaker sound system.
Looking at the 2025 Honda Prologue, you get very impressive standard features and you have three different trim levels to choose from—Chevy offers a third trim for the Blazer EV, but it is a performance-focused SS model that is a niche option. The Prologue EX is the starting trim and comes with heated front seats and a 10-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar support as standard features. That is far better than the seating found in Chevy’s base trim; in fact, this is a nicer driver’s seat than you will find even looking at the Blazer EV RS.
Moving up to higher trims, you get even more with the Prologue; the Touring trim gives you leather-trimmed seating, a six-way power-adjustable passenger’s seat, a two-position memory system for the driver’s seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Although a six-speaker sound system is standard for the Prologue, much like the Blazer EV, the Touring and Elite trims come with a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system for incredible audio inside this SUV, far surpassing Chevy’s sound system. Every Honda Prologue comes with a wireless phone charger inside, plus you get ventilated seating in the Elite.
Get More from the 2025 Honda Prologue
There is no denying that Honda and Chevy have made some impressive midsize SUVs with the Prologue and Blazer EV, especially when it comes to performance and range. We completely understand why these two brands chose to partner up and utilize the same great engineering for their electric SUVs. But once you look beyond those similarities and start focusing on ways that these two vehicles are different, it becomes clear that Honda gives you more to enjoy. You get a more refined interior, especially when looking at standard features, and great options like the available charging packages to enhance your experience and make owning your Prologue even better.
